Hello, I'm Kelly aka defunctzombie. No, I'm not a cat. :D That's my kitty in the picture. I've been around the internet since 2002, which seems like a long time ago.

Let me just get this out of the way: I am a huge Jim Henson fan. My favorite movie is Labyrinth, I grew up on Muppet Babies, and I find creatures fascinating.

Labyrinth is basically the story of my life. :D I mean that in the way that I don't seem to be growing out of my childhood favorites. I still have posters and statues everywhere, and I still watch cartoons. Let me tell you, though, this is the best time to be a Labyrinth fan. Tokyopop is releasing an OEL sequel to the movie, and Labyrinth's sister film, Dark Crystal, is getting the same treatment. That and many of Henson's creature items are being rereleased. Hopefully that Dark Crystal sequel will be released, and if our dreams come true, we will get a Labyrinth anime.

I'm a college student who has a heavy interest in anime. I can also speak Japanese to a degree, so that's a definite help to my interests. I watch a lot of films, Japanese or otherwise, so a movie review site is just what I need to do.

My favorite types of anime tend to be action or vampire stuff, but my favorite manga is clearly shojo. I'm not to heavy into romance television, but I'm fine reading it. When I read conventional books, I like young adult stuff and dystopian fiction. Some of my favorite authors are Hideyuki Kikuchi, Amy Tan, Lemony Snicket, and Sunao Yoshida.

I also read DC comics, usually Batman stories. Collected trade paperbacks were the best invention of the comics industry in my opinion. :)
